About Jim Thompson
Mr. Thompson operated a private consulting business from the 1980's until he recently retired. His company, Thompson Land, LLC developed many projects in the Issaquah area and he is currently managing personally owned rental properties. Since 1984, work has specialized in vacant land for residential and commercial uses. Mr. Thompson combined civil engineering and real estate expertise to provide clients with a full service approach to investing, developing and selling of vacant land. The company was originally formed in June 1984 as a sole proprietorship. Over the years, the company has evolved to Thompson Land, LLC and combined with Rosanne's company, Powers Real Estate in 2010. Clients included individuals, small businesses, larger corporations and financial institutions. Mr. Thompson's combined experience as a professional engineer, real estate broker and developer is put to good use for clients. Development experiences have ingrained in Mr. Thompson the ability to balance engineering and real estate decisions to obtain maximum profitability. Mr. Thompson also has extensive experience in dealing with legal issues and regulatory agencies. Mr. Thompson is currently providing, support as required, for clients of Powers Real Estate.

James E. Thompson graduated from the University of Washington College of Civil Engineering in 1973 and became licensed in the State of Washington in 1977 and in the State of Alaska in 1981. Jim worked 10 years with a private consulting firm and since 1983 has had his own practice. Jim's engineering experience ranges from small water systems to managing a $6 million utility construction project involving 3 cities, 5 consulting firms and 9 general contractors under 12 separate contracts. In 1983 and 1984, Jim joined the real estate firm John L. Scott, Inc. in Issaquah in order to meet state broker licensing requirements. While at John L. Scott, Jim exclusively sold vacant land and received numerous awards including top sales 1984-85 Issaquah office and top 10% 1984-85 within the entire company of 415 agents. Jim was born in Seattle, Washington and now lives in Issaquah.
